چکیده

the TCR d gene rearrangements in AML show the same pattern as those in T-ALL,4 and occur more frequently in immature AML3,6 or in lymphoid antigen–(CD2, CD4, or CD7) positive (Ly1) AML.4 Because myeloid/NK cell precursor acute leukemia can be recognized as immature AML or Ly1 AML, the existence of the Dd2-Jd1 pattern of TCR d gene rearrangement in myeloid/NK cell precursor acute leukemia is consistent with reports in the literature. We therefore maintain our conclusion that myeloid/NK cell precursor acute leukemia constitutes a distinct hematolymphoid disease entity. However, the NK cell precursor is, in a way, a T-cell precursor, because both T cells and NK cells have been shown to be derived from the same myeloid antigen–positive progenitor.7 Therefore, TCR d chain gene rearrangement in myeloid/NK cell precursor acute leukemia might reflect some characteristics of T-cell precursor origin. It might thus be possible for a differentiation pathway of T/NK cell and myeloid lineage to be identified as a result of investigation of the biological significance and underlying mechanism of the TCR d gene rearrangements in immature AML.

Intravenous immune globulin versus intravenous anti-D immune globulin for the treatment of acute immune thrombocytopenic purpura.

OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to compare the efficacy and side effects of intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) with intravenous anti-D immunoglobulin for treatment of newly diagnosed acute childhood Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP). METHODS Children (6 months to 14 years) with newly diagnosed acute ITP and platelet count below 20,000/ microL were randomized to receive single d...

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) licensed Rho(D) immune globulin intravenous (anti-D IGIV) on March 24, 1995 for treatment of immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP). A previous review described 15 patients who experienced acute hemoglobinemia and/or hemoglobinuria following anti-D IGIV administration for ITP or secondary thrombocytopenia. Eleven of those patients also experienced clinicall...

Acute Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura in Infants

Abstract Objective Immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) manifests as an easy bruising or extravasation of blood from capillaries into skin and mucous membranes. The characteristics of acute ITP in infants have rarely been described. In order to better understand acute ITP in infants, the characteristics of the disease at this age group was investigated. Material and Methods The present des...
